Emil Hvelplund is an architect and educator based in Copenhagen and Basel.
He runs a modest architecture studio called SOFT that collaborates with various artists, directors and makers. Currently teaching at The Royal Danish Academy School of Architecture under the BA Program Finder Sted | Taking Place. His work ranges from theoretical inquiries into the everyday implication of architecture.
Emil is the head and founder of Paraply school – a summer school exploring the future of architecture through practical speculation.
Along with Silvia Cipeletti, he founded the cinematic research unit 'Moving Landscape', exploring a critical view on the sustainable futures for lands and cities in transformation. Previous collaborations include Herzog de Meuron, SO-IL and Dorthe Mandrup Architects.
